Admission Procedure of International Students for Postgraduate and Research Programs at IIT Indore

  1. Admission Criteria :
  2. Anyone who is not a national of India will be considered as an international student for the purposes of admission and fees. International students can seek admission to various Postgraduate and Research Programmes (MTech, MS, and PhD) under the following categories:

    • Self-financing Students
    • ICCR Scholarship (Government of India; http://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in/)
    • Foreign Government Sponsorships
    • Industry Sponsorships
    • NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) Sponsorships
    • Allowance from IIT Indore Related to Assistance in Teaching.
    Students seeking admission in any one of the aforesaid categories will have to satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria for admission to the programmes as prescribed by the Institute. But merely fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria does not guarantee the selection of a candidate into any program.


  3. Selection Procedure :
  4. The Admission Procedure includes qualifying TOEFL, GRE, Letter of Recommendation, Statement of Purpose along with an interview (in person or over video conference). However as a one-time measure, this Academic year 2018-19 (Autumn Term) admission would be given based on interview only. No application fees would be applicable.

    * Living Expenses per semester include accommodation charges, registration fee, refundable security deposits, one-time admission fee and charges towards Group Insurance Premium per annum.
    The charges for food expenses are not included in the living expenses and the student will have to pay separately as per prevailing rates.

  7. Fee Waiver :
  8. There would be no specific scholarship offered as part of the programme and only waiver will be offered to the students on the basis of their merit.

    • 100 % waiver (100% waiver on Tuition fees only) to the top 25% of the students,
    • 50 % waiver (50% waiver on Tuition fees only) to the next 25% of the students,
    • 25 % waiver (25% waiver on Tuition fees only) to the next 25% of the students,
    • No waiver will be offered to the remaining 25 % of the students
