Sanjram Premjit Khanganba works as a human factors research practitioner. He currently holds an academic position at Indian Institute of Technology Indore as an Assistant Professor. He is a faculty member of both Psychology Division and Centre for Biosciences and Biomedical Engineering. For his doctoral research, he worked in the area of Human Factors & Applied Cognition and obtained his Ph.D. degree from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. During his academic career he has got the opportunity to be exposed to the full range of various domains of psychology which has reinforced and solidified his interest specifically in investigating aspects of applied cognition in system development, design, and evaluation. He has strong dedication in addressing issues of human factors research focusing on technological systems in the pursuit of technological innovation, improvement, and optimal utilization of human capabilities.
During his doctoral research, he developed an experimental paradigm (i.e., atypical action paradigm) to investigate habit intrusion as a prospective memory error in programmer multitasking in the context Human-Computer Interaction. Also, a Java based software was created for experimental studies. This software named after his alma mater IITBombay known as ‘IITB RR’ is a useful tool for scientific experiments. A new version of Response Recorder (version 2.0) named as ‘IITI RR’ will be available in his lab for performing research. Prior to joining IITBombay for his doctoral research, he spent productive time in the industry. He had worked with PPC Worldwide as a part of the global Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) provider. His research interests include Human Errors, Human Multitasking, Human Factors in Computer and Information Systems, Interactive System Design &Evaluation, Psychology of Programming/Empirical Study of Programming, and User Cognition.
He contributes papers in reputed journals with high impact factor in his area of research. He teaches courses and pursues Human Factors &Ergonomics (HFE) research at Indian Institute of Technology Indore. Having extensive research experience in his area of expertise, he performs applied research to address real-world problems with scientific rigor and is passionate about research projects and consultancy that will have social implications. His research at ‘Human Factors & Applied Cognition Lab’ concentrates on broad domains of: Interaction, Transport, and Performance.
