Dr. Sarika Jalan was born and brought up at Robertsganj (Sonebhadra), UP. She obtained her Masters from Banaras Hindu University, and PhD from Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad in Physics with the specialization in Nonlinear dynamics and complex systems. After four years of post-doctoral experience at MPI-MiS and MPI-PKS, she moved to NUS Singapore as senior research fellow. She established complex systems lab upon joining IIT Indore as Assistant Professor in December 2010.

Research at complex systems lab involves Nonlinear dynamics and complex systems. Broad research interests lie in Complex biological networks, Spectral graph theory, Random matrix theory, Synchronization, Coupled chaotic dynamics on large networks, Delayed networks, Extreme events, Adaptation and Evolution.
