Biswarup Pathak

Dr. Biswarup Pathak is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at IIT Indore, India. He leads the Computational Materials Designing Research Group in the Institute. He directs and mentors research scholars’ in projects in the area of computational modelling of nanomaterials (particularly nanoclusters) for catalysis, energy, and biological (DNA sequencing) applications. He has published over 200 papers in journals of international repute. Some of his works are published in prominent journals such as Journal of American Chemical Society (JACS), Angew. Chem. Int. Ed, Nature Communications, Nano Letter, ACS Nano among others. He has over 5000 (google scholar citation, H-index:39, i-index:122) citations. Dr Pathak was recognised as one of the top 5% of authors with the highest citations in the Royal Society of Chemistry journals for 2019 and 2020. He is the recipient of Wenner-Gren Postdoctoral fellowship for his innovative research on DNA sequencing. In 2017, Dr. Pathak received Early and Mid-Career Research Award from Indian National Science Academy (INSA) to work with Prof. Peter Gill at Australian National University, Canberra, Australia as a visiting scientist. Dr. Pathak has also been awarded the IIT Indore Best Researcher Award in 2016. He has received various national/international grants (DST, SERB, MHRD, VR-Sweden, DUO, INSA) of 4.8 crores or more to do work on the modelling of nanomaterials for catalysis and energy related applications. He is also recipient of the SPARC MHRD grant award for international collaboration. Dr. Pathak also received the 2020 DUO-India Professor Fellowship Award and has given more than 45 invited talks in various national/international occasions. In 2019, Dr Pathak has been featured in the cover page of Journal of Physical Chemistry Young Scientist Issue. In 2021, he has also been recognized as most impactful researchers from India by the American chemical society. Recently Dr. Pathak has been admitted as a FRSC (Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry) by the Royal Society of Chemistry, UK.
